Deliberate Practice Calculator

Anders Ericsson's research on deliberate practice showed that structured, feedback-rich practice matters more than raw hours. Malcolm Gladwell simplified this to "10,000 hours makes you an expert," which Ericsson spent years correcting. This tool lets you inventory your own lifetime hours, apply time decay, score your activities on deliberate practice quality, and see how much of your current skill level is explained by practice and how much isn't.

Add and remove activities where you believe you have spent significant time and where you want to assess how that time has resulted in skill. Time should be mutually exclusive and deliberate. For example, think of parenting as time spent doing things with your kids with some or all of the focus on them, exclusive of other activities on this list.
